CompTox Research Post Doctoral, Graduates and Under Graduate Training Positions via Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education
EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) has research project training positions available for recent graduates, undergraduate students and graduate students to join the National Center for Computational Toxicology (NCCT). Recent graduates (B.S., M.S. or Ph.D.) must be within five years of graduation. We are looking for individuals with degrees in computer science, statistics, engineering, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, biology, toxicology or a related field. The training positions will allow individuals hands-on experience over a 12 month period, renewable for up to two additional years (three year total appointment period) while working side-by-side with EPA mentors and scientists. EPA ORD's main research facility is in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (near Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill), which is home to multinational information technology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology corporations and many scientific research organizations. Raleigh was selected as "America’s Best City" by Businessweek in 2011, Durham was selected as one of U.S. News and World Report's top five places to live in 2009, and Chapel Hill was included by the A&E television network among the "Top Ten Cities to Have it All". The Research Triangle metropolitan area, with a population of about 1.6 million, is between the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean (roughly a two hour drive). Fellowship Opportunities
The NCCT Fellowship program is intended to help translate the technologies and approaches being developed within the NCCT to other parts of the Agency. This is a great opportunity for interaction, collaboration and facilitation of Computational Toxicology.
