This year's mild winter and spring were a bonanza for tick populations in the eastern U.S. Reports of tick-borne diseases have been rising fast. Lyme disease is more common in the Northeast and Upper Midwest, but new results show that Lyme is not the greatest cause for concern in the Southeast. Ehrlichiosis and spotted fever rickettsiosis are.
