Courtroom Events

  • FAQs

Some local federal courts host educational events to introduce students and their teachers to judges and jury service.  All events focus on true-to-life courtroom simulations with federal judges and volunteer attorneys.  As they are able, courts offer teachers’ workshops with classroom-ready materials that teachers can use immediately with their students.  Some courts conduct the annual Open Doors to Federal Courts program that takes one of two approaches.  The national initiative either focuses on a teen-relevant Supreme Court case decided in the most recent term or it applies a landmark case to a timely teen issue.  The courthouse events are for high school seniors and their teachers who contact their local federal courthouse to find out what programs are available.
