Partnerships

The Offshore Energy and Minerals Management (OEMM) actively seeks partnerships with stakeholders who are involved with, or affected by, oil and gas resource management activities. Not only do partnerships result in important consensus building, but within the current environment of ever-constrained budgets, they also afford an opportunity for leveraging dollars and accomplishing research objectives that might not be attainable otherwise.

International – sharing information with international counterparts

Sand & Gravel – integrates geologic and environmental information developed through partnerships with coastal States and contracted out or with cooperative study efforts, to identify suitable OCS sand deposits and to provide needed environmental information in regards to environmental management of these resources.

Ohmsett – an integral part of the Bureau oil spill response research program. Ohmsett provides simulation and clean-up of oil spills in a large, above-ground test tank.

Offshore Technology Resource Center (OTRC) – joint project with the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University that conducts applied research to improve the recovery of deepwater oil and gas.
