This web area provides information and resources about environmental justice efforts in EPA’s Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER). Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. In OSWER, that means listening to the concerns and circumstances of communities affected by land contamination or environmental emergencies.
