This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), Office of Food Defense, Communication and Emergency Response (OFDCER), located in College Park, Maryland.

DUTIES:

 The incumbent performs the following duties:

  • Interprets and implements the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) Web policies;
  • Develops and maintains the content of CFSAN's Web policies;
  • Markets CFSAN's Web-based information products;
  • Reaches out to audience groups (such as citizens and regulated industry) to determine their needs and ensures that the Center's digital communications address those needs;
  • Serves as an expert and catalyst for developing and promoting new uses of digital communications to improve the way the Center does business and service citizens; and
  • Represents the Center/Agency on interagency efforts related to the Web.

The incumbent serves as an expert in planning, overseeing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the content development and evaluation of CFSAN Web products and services. This includes setting goals and objectives, assisting in formulating and implementing a strategic vision, conceiving policies and strategies and assisting in the operation of the Agency's Web site.  Identifies user-centered design, information architecture, and communication issues on CFSAN component Web sites and works with content owners to improve the sites. Serves as a content manager liaison to FDA Web communication efforts and CFSAN offices. 


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, to include planning, overseeing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating digital communications and Web content management which includes setting goals and objectives, conceiving policies and strategies and assisting in the operation of an organization's Web site.
