The U.S. Department of State announced today that Ann Stock, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, will accompany Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to Brazil to participate in the U.S.-Brazil Global Partnership Dialogue, where she will lead the Working Group on Education.
On April 16, Assistant Secretary Stock and Minister George Torquato Firmeza, Brazil’s Director of the Cultural Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will lead the Global Partnership Dialogue’s Working Group on Education in Brasilia. Fabiola Rodriguez-Ciampoli, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs, will also participate in the Working Group on Education as part of the 100,000 Strong in the Americas initiative. On April 17, Assistant Secretary Stock will accompany Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to the First Annual High-Level Meeting of the Open Government Partnership. Click here for more information on Secretary Clinton’s travel to Brazil.
In addition to Brasilia, Assistant Secretary Stock will also travel to Sao Paulo on April 18 to meet with underserved youth, alumni from English Language Programs, and the Secretary of Education for the State of Sao Paulo.
