Pay and Allowances
An Officers pay is comprised of two basic parts pay and allowances. Basic pay and allowances are paid on the basis of an Officer's personnel orders and issued by Division Commissioned Personnel (DCP) which defines rank and duty station. Additional pay, regarding dependents, variable housing, and special pay, etc are dependent upon the Officer completing forms and submitting the required information.

Basic Pay is considered to be the Officer's actual salary. It is subject to Federal income tax, and in most cases, State income tax. The rate of basic pay received is based on temporary grade and Base Pay Entry Date (BPED).
