For Earth Day 2010, GSA issued a challenge to employees – share a creative green tip that is both practical and impactful with fellow employees. The challenge and subsequent contest were hosted on the agency’s Facebook page. More than 35 GSA Facebook fans voted for NCR’s Sharon Etienne’s green tip: to bring re-usable bottles for hot and cold drinks to your office’s cafeteria. The tip encourages employees to forgo the waste of daily paper cups in favor of a more sustainable solution. Administrator Johnson and Sharon had tea, coffee, and pastries, and discussed everything from green tips for lowering our environmental footprint to career opportunities at GSA.
