SPECIAL ENVOY ROSENTHAL: History shows us many examples of different communities coming together to help one another

SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE PANDITH: La Con – vi – vencia – a period of seven centuries in Spain—when Christians, Muslims, and Jews lived together, exchanging ideas and culture.

SPECIAL ENVOY ROSENTHAL: During the Holocaust, King Zog of Albania issued four hundred passports to refugee Jews, granting them safe entry into his country during the Holocaust, saving their lives[i].

SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE PANDITH: And In Turkey, when Sultan Mehmed fostered multi-religious communities throughout Istanbul, where Jews and Muslims coexisted peacefully and prosperously.

SPECIAL ENVOY ROSENTHAL: Now we must work together to build new histories for a stronger, more prosperous world…no one group can do it alone
