Yuxiang Liu is a CNST/UMD Postdoctoral Researcher in the Nanofabrication Research Group. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Precision Machinery and Instrumentation from the University of Science and Technology of China, Heifei, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. His doctoral research focused on building novel optical fiber-based trapping systems with increased system flexibility, functionality, and trapping efficiency for micro- and nano-scale manipulation and force detection. Yuxiang is working with Kartik Srinivasan and Vladimir Aksyuk to develop on-chip cavity optomechanical sensors for force and displacement metrology.
