Accelerator Update for May 22, 2009 - May 25, 2009

The Integrated Luminosity 5/18/09 to 5/25/09 was 32 pb -1.

Friday May 22

The day shift began with Operations monitoring the Tevatron (TeV) store 7074 (148.04E30) and the Recycler stash (62.9E10), with the Antiproton Source stacking (6.7E10), with the Linac, Booster, and Main Injector (MI) operating normally, with the Meson MTest and NuMI experiments taking beam, with MiniBooNE off due to air conditioning problems, and with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) and D-Zero (D0) experiments using the colliding beams.

Operations disabled the MTest beam at 6 PM.

Operations terminated store 7074 at 8 PM. D0 accessed their collision hall.

Operations resumed sending beam to MiniBooNE at 8:30 PM.

Saturday May 23

The midnight shift began with Operations monitoring the stash (396.6E10) and the stack (22.8E10), with D0 in access, and with NuMI and MiniBooNE taking beam.

The D0 access lasted until 2:30 AM.

Operations put the TeV through orbit checkout that lasted until 4 AM.

Operations put the TeV into an HEP shot setup at 4:15 AM, but the shot was ended after problems were found with coalescing beam in the Main Injector.

Operations put the TeV into a new shot setup and established store 7078 with an average initial luminosity of 306.64E30 at 8 AM.

Operations established beam to MTest shortly after 8 AM.

Operations disabled the MTest beam at 6 PM.

Operations terminated store 7078 at 10:30 PM and put the TeV into shot setup.

Sunday May 24

The midnight shift began with the TeV in shot setup, with Operations monitoring the stash, with Pbar stacking, and with NuMI and MiniBooNE taking beam.

Operations established store 7079 around midnight with an average initial luminosity of 329.29E30.

Operations established beam to MTest at 12:15 AM.

Linac personnel switched from the I- Source to the H- Source at 5 PM and was then tuned due to sparking.

Operations terminated store 7079 at 7:44 PM. Problems with the Proton Source caused the store to be kept longer than planned.

Operations put the TeV into HEP shot setup and established store 7080 at 9:17 PM with an average initial luminosity of 293.16E30.

Monday May 25

The midnight shift began with Operations monitoring store 7080 and the stash, with Pbar stacking, and with NuMI and MiniBooNE taking beam.

Operations established beam to MTest at 4 AM.

The Plans for Monday

The plans for today are to stack, stash, and store.
