Information about Hematologic Diseases

The NIDDK conducts and supports research on a number of hematologic diseases, including certain types of anemias and iron disorders. NIDDK fact sheets covering some of these diseases and conditions can be found below, with new material to be added in the near future. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health provides additional information on blood diseases and conditions.
