DoDEA Pacific started hosting the Far East Cheerleading Clinic in 1995 on Kadena Air Base. The event has been open to DoDEA Pacific schools. The clinic is a National Cheerleading Association (NCA) sponsored competition. DoDEA Pacific brings in a stateside professional cheer squad to instruct 10 cheerleaders from each DoDEA Pacific high school in this week-long event in November.  Cheerleading squads learn chants, cheers, jumps, pyramids and dances. D-1 and D-2 Far East champion teams are selected along with a Herkie Team Award, Spirit Award Megaphone and Most Improved.
