Postadoption Service Models
Public and private child welfare agencies vary considerably in what they can offer in postadoption programs and services. Statewide adoption resource centers and adoption preservation programs
Some States provide postadoption services statewide. Other States obtain services from regional providers. In this section you can find information on statewide postadoption services within the Adoption Assistance by State database.

Provides information on postadoption services in each State and territory based on feedback given to a survey by AAICAMA.
Public and Private adoption agency-affiliated postadoption programs
Some public agencies provide postadoption services such as information and referral, support groups, or counseling. Many private adoption agencies have postadoption programs. Find postadoption programs available from public and licensed private agencies by searching the National Foster Care and Adoption Directory database. Also, learn how private agencies responded to a 2006 Child Welfare League of America survey about postadoption services.

Survey Examines Postadoption Services Among Private Agencies

Private (nonagency-affliated) postadoption organizations
In this section you can find information about organizations that specialize in providing services to adoption triad members. While many of these same services are provided by adoption agencies, these providers do not facilitate adoptions, so they are not adoption 'agencies' in the traditional sense.
Adoption Mosaic
Provides educational resources and ongoing support to all those whose lives are influenced by adoption including an adoption blog, an adoption book, and movie reviews. Also offers pre- and postadoption support through adoption readiness trainings, transracial adoption workshops, adopted person and community movie nights in the Portland, Oregon area.
Center for Family Connections
Offers support to adoptive families, birth families, and adopted people, including therapy for individuals, couples, and families; supervised visits and visits for siblings being raised apart; support groups for adoptive families, birth families, and teens; and training in Massachusetts.
Center for Adoption Support and Education
Provides postadoption counseling and educational services to families, educators, child welfare staff, and mental health providers in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC.
