ATF Agents Assist Arizona With Super Bowl Xlii Security

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives(ATF) will assist the Greater Phoenix Law Enforcement community with security for theFeb. 3 Super Bowl. A cadre of special agents with explosives expertise, as well asexplosives detection canines, will be deployed throughout the numerous Super Bowlvenues in the Glendale, Phoenix area, including the University of Phoenix Stadium, theNFL Experience, and team hotels and practice facilities to name a few.

ATF has the largest commitment of explosives experts assisting with securityduring Super Bowl week. These assets include Special Agent Bomb Technicians,Explosives Enforcement Officers, Certified Explosive Specialists, K-9’s, robots, theexplosives response truck and ATF’s mobile forensic laboratory. ATF assets will also bedeployed that same week at the PGA Tours FBC Open being held at the TPC Scottsdale,in Scottsdale, Ariz.
