The Office of Economic Policy Analysis and Public Diplomacy (EPPD), led by Director Maryruth Coleman, promotes sound economic policy making by managing cross-cutting issues including strategic planning, economic analysis, public diplomacy, and advancement of corporate social responsibility and private sector outreach. EPPD creates policy analysis products for decision-makers and organizes seminars with outside experts to inform a rapidly-changing policy process. EPPD leads the U.S. relationship with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on vital international economic issues. The public diplomacy unit plans, coordinates and implements speaking engagements; media events, releases and interviews; articles, fact sheets, and op-eds; social media communications; and website management. The corporate social responsibility and private sector outreach unit provides guidance, promotion and support for responsible business practices, engaging the private sector, civil society, and non-governmental organizations. EPPD manages two federal advisory committees: the EB Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy (ACIEP) and the Secretary of State’s International Council on Women Business Leadership. EPPD also manages the Secretary of State’s annual Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) program.
