The long-standing relationship between our two countries has been a force for peace and prosperity in the region and around the world. Montenegro’s contributions to global security as a partner in ISAF are greatly valued. Our relationship continues to strengthen as Montenegro moves closer to realizing its Euro-Atlantic aspirations. We were pleased to see the European Union open accession negotiations with Montenegro at the end of June. This is another strong indicator of Montenegro’s growing influence and advancement toward lasting stability and prosperity.
On this Statehood Day, the United States stands with you as a partner and friend. Best wishes for a joyous celebration.
