Best thing you've done here: Learned about the F-16. I was previously a crew chief on F-15s.

Reason for nomination: "Airman Dickey's exemplary troubleshooting efforts were vital to the repair of an 80th Aircraft Maintenance Unit F-16 which ground-aborted during engine start for a jet fuel starter malfunction. Airman Dickey just recently arrived from Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base, S.C., after working on the F-15, but has quickly adapted to the F-16. This was proved evident in his ability to quickly and effectively troubleshoot the anomaly to a defective digital engine start system controller. The fault isolation of this highly complex starting system can sometimes be difficult for even the most seasoned F-16 crew chief. In addition, Airman Dickey was able to locate and retrieve a night vision imaging system bezel light that had been accidently dislodged by the aircrew. His efforts prevented an aircraft impoundment and saved over 48 man-hours of maintenance. Airman Dickey's expertise directly secured the Wolf Pack's ability to secure the Korean Peninsula and, if necessary, 'Take the Fight North.' His maintenance efforts to the 8th Fighter Wing's mission make him a perfect choice (for this award)." - Chief Master Sgt. Steven Ferrell, 8th AMXS
