October Public Lecture: We Can’t Live Without Them
The Importance of Minerals to Our Way of Life

Today the United States is the world’s leading user of mineral commodities. Every year about 25,000 pounds of new, non-fuel mineral materials are extracted from the Earth for e very person in the United States. But what are these minerals and how do we use them? Join us on October 5th to learn more about the minerals we use on a daily basis, where these resources come from, and the steps involved from mineral discovery to mineral use.
