Description: This course is designed for experienced users of the Laboratory Package who are interested in adding additional functionality. It is an advanced level course for those individuals who have been assigned the responsibility for implementing and maintaining the Laboratory Package at their site. Participants will be provided a full overview of barcode label printing, development of load/work lists and auto-instrument files for unidirectional and bidirectional instrument interfaces. The use and maintenance of Data Innovations Instrument Manager will be demonstrated and discussed. Use of VA Fileman for editing, searching, and printing information from the Laboratory files, setting up the Microbiology module, menu management, and common troubleshooting will also be included.

Description: The Standard IHS Diabetes Register in RPMS is a basic tool for keeping a list of your diabetes patients, their disease type, complications, case review dates, etc. The Register facilitates the addition, inactivation, and removal of patients from the Register. The system capitalizes on data contained in the PCC and minimizes redundant data entry for local Diabetes Coordinators. Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs provide a financial incentive for the “Meaningful Use” of certified EHR technology to achieve health and efficiency goals The purpose of this intense hands-on course is to provide Health Information Management [HIM] professionals with an understanding of: • Requirements and expectations of Meaningful Use as it applies to HIM roles and responsibilities. • Policy, objectives, staff responsibilities, and standards relating to health record services as it pertains to electronic health information. Description: "CAC Course Description" Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Mountain Time This classroom "hands-on" training will be taught using Web Conferencing Technology and Satellite Classrooms at the [a] Office of Information Technology in Albuquerque, New Mexico – Mountain Time& multiple other locations [see website]. The instructors will teach via Classroom and Live Adobe Connect® using the educational techniques of lecture, discussion, scripts, and “hands-on” computer experience with the RPMS EHR clinical application. Area CACs and Area IT Professionals will serve as instructors, facilitators, mentors, and monitors at each of the computer training rooms. Prerequisites This class will be oriented towards Clinical Application Coordinators, Pharmacy Informaticist, Laboratory Informaticist, HIM Professionals, Site Managers, “EHR” Implementation Team Leaders” and other “EHR Team Members” involved with the set-up and implementation of EHR at their facility. Facilities that have loaded Pharmacy 5/7 and EHR at their facility prior to this class will be able to work on their own systems during the training. This review course assumes that participants are Intermediate to Advanced RPMS Users and have experience with RPMS Packages to include: • Patient Registration • Scheduling • Pharmacy • Laboratory • Radiology • Patient Tracking • Diabetes Management System • Immunization • Women’s Health • Clinical Reporting System • Q-Man • PCC Management Reports.

Prerequisite: Participants must have a background in the Resource Patient Management System Electronic Health Record [RPMS-EHR] healthcare documentation. Each participant must have access to a computer with internet connection and a separate telephone line to dial into the web conferencing number. Participants must have access to their facility’s RPMS EHR system [roll and scroll, EHR GUI] as the Clinical Applications Coordinator [CAC] and Laboratory Information System Manager [LISM]. It is expected that each site's participants will function as an EHR Working Team and be located in one central location at their facility.

Description: This course will provide current RPMS administrators with the information needed to manage a Cache/Ensemble 2012.1 system. The training combines lecture, class discussion and hands-on exercises to provide the students with the practical knowledge for day-to-day operations in the RPMS application environment. The students will gain practical experience with the new Management Portal, learning how to adapt to the changes in the configuration and user interface. In addition to daily operations, this class will cover system monitoring and troubleshooting techniques that relate to common problems that RPMS sites have experienced.

Description: This is Part 2 of a 2-part Webex training on Care Management Event Tracking, an IT tool designed to provide healthcare personnel with the basic knowledge and skills to electronically track and manage a variety of tests, screenings, and diagnostic procedures that have occurred at a site through to completion. In Part 2 the instructor discusses and demonstrates the set up of CMET site parameters, CMET User Preferences,CMET layouts, and CMET filters. She utilizes the batch process function for processing normal mammogram screenings and pap smears. She presents a variety of clinical scenarios to illustrate its uses for tracking CMET events for panels of patients and managing the events for an entire site.

She uses the CMET worksheet to document the CMET workflow and describes the tickler icons used to identify steps that are due/past due or completed. Participants view the CMET data in the patient view and track an event to completion.
