Medford Resident Charged with Child Pornography

Boston - A Medford man arrested yesterday by federal law enforcement, faces child pornography charges.

James P. Judge, 57, was charged with receipt or attempted receipt of child pornography. Judge is alleged to have received or attempted to receive by U.S. mail, a DVD entitled “Peeper II,” which contains visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

If convicted, Judge faces 20 years in federal prison with a minimum term of five years to be followed by at least five years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000 fine.

United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz; Robert Bethel, Postal Inspector of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Boston Division; Colonel Marian J. McGovern, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police; and Medford Police Chief Leo A. Sacco, Jr. made the announcement today. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan of Ortiz's Major Crimes Unit.

The details contained in the indictment are allegations. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
