NAVAIR's Long Range Acquisition Forecast (LRAF), covering FY12 through FY14, is now available under the Procurement Forecast section of the "Presentations" link (or click on the heading title above to access). NAVAIR's LRAF creates a demand signal visible to a wider range of industry and should contribute to better support of our requirements including the distinct prospect of fostering increased competition. AV-8B Harrier Warehouse in the UK August 23, 2012

NAVAIR (PMA-257) is investigating options to relocate T/AV-8B Harrier tooling currently stored in the UK (Longtown) to another facility in the UK for further use by UK vendors. This RFI is being released for the purpose of determining Industry's interest in supporting a potential 5 year FFP contract that the U.S. government funds based on total square footage occupied. The T/AV-8B is scheduled to remain in service until 2030. In order to sustain this platform and keep it operationally relevant, the program continues to monitor obsolescence, logistics, avionics, propulsion, sub-systems, and support issues. Sustainment of the aircraft requires existing tooling to be maintained, inventoried, and properly stored in support of future spares contracts and other sustainment requirements.
