Drug Testing and Program Requirements
 
 

A drug test or certified program is required for all transactions EXCEPT endorsements, duplicates, and STCW certificates.  You MUST use a DOT 5 Panel (SAMHSA 5 Panel, formerly NIDA 5), testing for Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine, and Amphetamines will be accepted.  Please review form CG-719P for details of what is required and accepted by the National Maritime center. You will find a current list of testing center on the Department of Health and Human Services (click on SAMHSA 5 PANEL Website).

 

You can find MRO approved locations at either one of these sites.

The above web link will give you detailed information for testing. This site is updated by the Department of Human Service who get their information directly from the Federal Registry.

You MUST have a USCG drug test conducted within the past 185 days by a laboratory accredited by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
