U.S. Marshal Kerry Forestal

Kerry Forestal was sworn in to be the U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Indiana on June 17, 2010.

Previously, Kerry Forestal was the Chief Deputy of Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana, where he oversaw 1,000 employees. He joined the Department as a Deputy Sheriff in 1977, served as a Detective in the Narcotics and Vice Section from 1986 to 1991, and worked his way through the ranks to his current position. Specialized assignments during his law enforcement career include service on the Integrated Threat Analysis Group and involvement with the complex security elements of the Indianapolis 500. In addition to his extensive professional training, Forestal studied criminal justice and public administration at Ball State University and at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.
