DoDDS Korea District Superintendent Office Announces Ms. Jones as a New Assistant Principal of Daegu American School

The DoDDS Korea District Office is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Nedra Jones to serve as the new assistant principal of Daegu American School. Ms. Jones’ most recent teaching experience is with the Okinawa, Japan district where she served as a Literacy Support Specialist for the last six years.

Ms. Jones was born in Heidelberg, Mississippi. After graduating from high school, Ms. Jones attended Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi where she received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary and Secondary Education with a Minor in Special Education. Her other educational background includes a Universal Special Education Certification from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Research from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Ms. Jones comes to the Korea District with teaching experiences in the areas of Early Childhood Special Education, Learning Impairment Specialist, Language Arts and Reading Specialist, Literacy Support Specialist and Elementary Education. Ms. Jones’ teaching experiences have been with schools in the United States and the Department of Defense Schools in Europe and the Pacific.

Throughout her educational career Ms. Jones has served in a number of leadership roles including chairperson for Continuous School Improvement, Partnerships-in-Schools, and the School Climate Committee. Additionally she has been a facilitator for Curriculum Implementation, Staff Development and Graduate Study Groups. Ms. Jones was member of the School Advisory Council and the faculty representative for the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).

Ms. Jones enjoys outdoor sports and activities. She is an enthusiast of whole living which allows her to pursue her love of cooking, fitness, travel, family and friends. Ms. Jones has two daughters.
