Lauren Aronson is the Director of the Office of Legislation at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.   In this role, Lauren is responsible for working with Congress on Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP and private health insurance issues on behalf of the agency.

Prior to joining CMS, Lauren served as a Professional Staff Member for the Committee on Ways and Means in the U.S. House of Representatives.  In that capacity, she was the lead staff person for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D payment policies and various Affordable Care Act implementation issues.  Previously, Lauren served in the White House as the Policy Director in the Office of Health Reform.  In that capacity, she served as a key member of the White House team working to enact the President’s health reform agenda.   In addition, Lauren served as a member of the Health Policy Working Group for the Obama-Biden Transition Team.

Prior to joining the White House, Lauren served as a Policy Advisor to former Representative Rahm Emanuel and advised him on health policy issues while Mr. Emanuel was Democratic Caucus Chair and a Member of the House Ways and Means Committee.  Earlier in her career, she served as a Policy Analyst to Christopher Jennings at his firm, Jennings Policy Strategies.  

Lauren received a B.A. in political science from George Washington University.
