Stakeholder Workshop on Natural Gas in the Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks

EPA will be holding a stakeholder workshop on key aspects of the estimates of greenhouse gas emissions from the natural gas sector in the Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks (Inventory). EPA develops the Inventory each year to provide a comprehensive accounting of total greenhouse gas emissions for all man-made sources in the United States, and to track the national trend in emissions and removals since 1990. The Inventory is submitted to the United Nations in accordance with the Framework Convention on Climate Change. For more information, please see http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/ghgemissions/usinventoryreport.html.

EPA seeks stakeholder feedback on the natural gas sector estimates in the Inventory, and new data and information on updates to the estimates. At the workshop, EPA will present information on existing emissions methodologies and data and will also present options under consideration for updates to the Inventory, based on previous stakeholder comments on the Inventory estimates. EPA also invites stakeholder presentations at the workshop on new data and information related to these estimates.
