Brig. Gen. Kenneth D. Lewis, Jr., is director of Air Force Reserve Plans, Programs, and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington D.C. He is responsible for matters pertaining to formulating resource guidance, providing program direction for managing Air Force Reserve resources, and developing, defining, advocating, and integrating operational capabilities requirements with Air Force Reserve doctrine, plans, programs, and policies to enhance total Air Force, Joint, and combined air and space capabilities.

The general began his Air Force career in 1985 after receiving his commission and earning the Distinguished Graduate award through Kansas State University's Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program. He spent 14 years active duty in a variety of assignments to include working as an Engineer, Instructor and Evaluator Pilot, Operations Officer, Flight Examiner, Air Force Liaison Officer and as an Operational-Readiness Planner. In May 1999, General Lewis entered the Air Force Reserve and has seen duty as squadron operations and training officer, operations group commander and wing commander. General Lewis is a command pilot with more than 4,500 hours on air refueling and airlift missions.
