Brig Gen Brian E. Dominguez is the Vice Commander of 22nd Air Force, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga. As Vice Commander, he assists the commander in the management and oversight of more than 13,500 Air Force Reservists at 13 wings, a Regional Support Group and a Flight Test Group. The command is responsible for supporting the Reserve's air mobility and air refueling operations from locations in 23 states across America. With 149 unit-equipped aircraft, 22nd Air Force contributes daily to the Air Force's worldwide operational mission. Reserve aircrews within 22nd Air Force fly a variety of missions to include aerial spraying, fire suppression, hurricane hunters and troop transport utilizing the C-130 Hercules.


General Dominguez earned his commission from the U. S. Air Force Academy in 1981. After pilot training, he was assigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio flying the CT-39A where he was an instructor pilot and Chief of Safety. In 1985 he transitioned to the C-141B at Norton AFB, Calif., where he was a Special Operations Low Level examiner pilot and served as Chief of Tactics. In 1988 he joined the Reserves and served in various positions, including Chief of Standardization and Evaluation, Chief Pilot, Commander of the 356th Airlift Squadron and Vice Wing Commander of the 445th Airlift Wing, supporting worldwide C-141C aero-medical evacuation and strategic airlift operations, predominantly in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

As the Vice Commander, he helped preside over a conversion to the C-5A aircraft. General Dominguez then became the mobilization assistant to the Director of Air, Space, and Information Operations for Air Force Materiel Command. In his previous assignment, General Dominguez was the mobilization assistant to the Director of Operational Planning, Policy and Strategy, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Plans, and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Washington. D.C. The Directorate is responsible for the development and integration of operational strategies, organization concepts, policies and plans supporting all elements of aerospace power employment. His Air Force experience includes combat support missions during operations Desert Storm, Fundamental Justice, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom.

He is a command pilot with more than 6,300 military flying hours. In his civilian capacity, he is employed as an international commercial airline captain with a major airline company.
