DOE Commercial Building Energy Asset Rating: Pilot Program Information

When: Thursday, March 15, 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET
View the webinar materials.

Description: This webinar will discuss the new Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) program, and answer questions about eligibility, benefits, and how to get started. CMAP recently launched a Commercial Building Program that includes credit enhancements for Managed Energy Services Agreements, which allow building owners to upgrade their facilities without capital expenditure or the assumption of any debt.

Tools and Best Practices for Implementing Green Leasing

When: Monday, March 26, 1:00–2:30 p.m. ET
View the webinar materials.

Description: This webinar will discuss how to use green leasing (or energy-efficient leasing) to overcome challenges presented by misaligned incentives between building owners and tenants in increasing the energy efficiency of commercial buildings. Typical leases either do not hold the tenant accountable for energy costs or do not allow building owners to recoup energy cost savings from efficiency investments. This non-technical solution allows property owners and occupants to share energy efficiency costs and benefits.

Speakers:

  • Adam Sledd, Institute for Market Transformation
  • Steve Teitelbaum, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority
  • Jim Nobil, U.S. General Services Administration (GSA)
  • Alexandra Kosmides, GSA
