Health Physics Special Issue Features Contributions by Bill Morgan, Tony Brooks

Dr. William (Bill) Morgan, Director of Radiation Biology & Biophysics at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Dr. Antone (Tony) Brooks, PNNL consultant, are major contributors to the March 2011 special issue of Health Physics. This issue highlights the Victor Bond Workshop held May 2-5, 2010, in Richland, Washington. The workshop honored the late Dr. Victor (Vic) Bond, whose research resulted in numerous influential scientific papers that contributed greatly to the understanding of radiation effects in biological systems.

Morgan and Brooks, who were on the workshop planning committee, co-authored the issue’s introduction, the workshop commentary, and the session summaries, along with Dr. Ludwig Feinendegen, Professor Emeritus, Heinrich-Heine-University, Dusseldorf, Germany. PNNL administrator Sheila Kirk edited the contributions.

The workshop sponsors included Siemens Healthcare Sector, the Columbia Chapter of the Health Physics Society, Dade Moeller and Associates, and the U.S. Department of Energy Low Dose Radiation Research Program.
