LMTC is a Naval Air Depot (NAVAIR DEPOT) or Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) / Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) responsible for actively developing maintenance processes and supportability requirements within a particular Maintenance Technology (MT) area. With resources constantly diminishing, LMTC’s ensure the maximum value from available resources by providing increased coordination and communication between NAVAIR DEPOT, NAWC/NSWC and fleet customers, therefore reducing duplication of effort. LMTC’s provide support to fleet activities, Program Management Teams and Product Support Teams.

While assignment of an LMTC provides a central point-of-contact for a given MT, it does not mean the LMTC is the only activity with expertise in that MT, e.g., multiple NAVAIR DEPOT’s are involved in welding, corrosion control and composite repair. This directory was assembled to provide information regarding LMTC’s to potential benefactors of LMTC MT’s. LMTC assignments for specific technologies are made by NAVAIR 3.2E. These assignments are based on the available demonstrated MT knowledge and expertise in existing and emerging technology areas. NAVAIRINST 4700.22, Policy for managing LMTCs, was approved 28 April 1995. The instruction details actions and responsibilities of the LMTC Team.
