Background: The 133rd Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron is the original unit tasked with the Test Squadron mission. It was formed on June 1st 1948 and saw its first action during the Korean War in 1951. Since then the 133rd spent the half century watching the skies, serving all around the globe in missions such as air battle management, refueling, early warning, homeland defense, protecting the President Of The United States, and counter drug task force. The Unit has also seen several different name changes, from a Tactical Control Squadron (1971-1976), Forward Air Control Flight (1976-1989), Tactical Control Squadron (1989-1992), and Air Control Squadron (1992-2002). Which leads us up to its present day mission as a “one of a kind” Test Squadron (2002-present) tasked unit.
