MML Program Area: Food Safety and Nutrition

The Material Measurement Laboratory's program in food safety and nutrition provides the measurement science needed to underpin measurements of the composition of food and water in ways that enable the nation to prevent contaminated food and water from entering supply streams and ensure the reliability of nutrition information on product labels, and that help consumers make well-informed dietary choices.
