America’s Navy Chaplains updated their profile picture.
Navy Chaplains serve both full-time and part-time. Serving part-time as a Reservist, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Chaplains in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
Navy Chaplains immerse themselves in the daily lives of servicemembers. In what can be best described as a ministry of presence, they are there to offer guidance and insight in the moment, whenever they’re needed.
Chaplains offer everything from faith leadership to personal advice to much-needed solace. All while living up to the guiding principles of the Chaplain Mission:
- Providing religious ministry and support to those of your own faith
- Facilitating the religious requirements of those from all faiths
- Caring for all servicemembers and their families, including those subscribing to no specific faith...
- Advising the command in ensuring the free exercise of religion
In the Navy, you can still serve God and country without being an ordained clergy. Religious Program Specialists provide support and protection to Navy Chaplains, and make a world of difference to Chaplains and servicemembers alike.
To all of the Moms who did their part to shape the Sailors behind the greatest naval force the world has ever known, thank you.
Family support is so important, especially to a Sailor. On Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we salute the spouses and families who support the Sailors of America's Navy.
As a Navy Chaplain, your job spans a broad range of duties, seeing people through some of their most joyful moments to their most personally challenging.
Serve God and country as the spiritual guide and moral anchor for servicemembers of all backgrounds – even as you provide religious services to those within your own faith.
