PEACHTREE CITY, GA — July 26, 2007 — Dr. Elaine Beraza, Director, Department of Defense (DoD) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Cuba, (DoDDS-Cuba) announced today that Mrs. Linda Haberman has been named principal of Scott Middle School, at Fort Knox, KY.

Haberman is currently an assistant principal at Marshall Elementary School, at Fort Campbell, KY., a position she has held since 2003. She has also served as assistant principal at Lincoln Elementary School and as the acting principal of Marshall Elementary. Haberman was the DDESS nominee for the DoDEA Assistant Principal of the Year for the 2006-2007 school year. She began her teaching career with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) when she taught at Fort Bragg, N.C.

"Linda Haberman has a wealth of experience, knowledge, and expertise that will benefit our school community greatly,” said Mr. Todd Curkendall, Assistant Superintendent for the Kentucky District. “We anxiously await her arrival and the opportunity for her to become a part of the Fort Knox Community schools.
Haberman earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. She is continuing her post graduate studies at Murray State.

Haberman and her husband, Greg, have a son and a daughter.
