PEACHTREE CITY, GA — February 11, 2010 — Dr. Linda Curtis, Area Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the Department of Defense (DoD) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Cuba, (DoDDSCuba) announced today that Mrs. Patricia Schob, has been
named principal of Albritton Junior High School, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in the
North Carolina District. She replaces Mr. Michael Thornburg, who accepted the position
of Education Operations Chief.

Schob began her career in education in 1984 with the Cumberland County, North Carolina Schools. In 1991, she joined the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) as a teacher in the Fort Bragg schools. She was named the Fort Bragg Teacher of the Year in the 2005-2006 school year. In 2006 she became an administrator when she was named Assistant Principal of Albritton, a position she held until being named
principal.

As a teacher and administrator, she has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in education and strong support for our military families. In her new role, I am confident that she will facilitate highest student achievement and expand opportunities for students’ success.”

Born in Vicenza, Italy, Schob attended Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Europe as a child. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Methodist University, Fayetteville, N.C., her master’s degree from Fayetteville State University, and her education specialist’s degree from Liberty University. She and her husband, Rob, have two daughters, and reside in Fayetteville.
