El Paso Sheriff's Most Wanted Arrested

LSFTF LogoEl Paso, TX – On Tuesday, Jose Armando Vega, (32) of El Paso, Texas, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. At approximately 5:30 p.m. Vega, wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, was located and taken into custody without incident in the 5000 block of Tamara in El Paso, Texas.

Vega was featured as an El Paso Sheriff’s Office most wanted fugitive on Aug. 10, 2012. Vega had six outstanding warrants; aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary of habitation, motion to revoke probation – possession of marijuana over 4 oz. under 5 lbs., criminal nonsupport and 2 counts of assault causes bodily injury – family violence. The LSFTF had assumed apprehension authority for Vega approximately 2 weeks ago. Since then task force members aggressively sought Vega. Vega was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond. Robert Almonte, the United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, said “once our task force officers start looking for someone, chances are they will be arrested in the near future. This is why the LSFTF is second to none.”
