About the National Institute of Corrections

We are an agency within the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons. The Institute is headed by a Director appointed by the U.S. Attorney General. A 16-member Advisory Board, also appointed by the Attorney General, was established by the enabling legislation (Public Law 93-415) to provide policy direction to the Institute.

Woman to Woman assists women released from prison or jail with housing, clothing, computer skills, healing, life skills, and employment. The program also refers women to agencies throughout the community. Networking and co-laboring with ministries and institutions from around the United States connects the Woman to Woman program to a larger community. Spiritual guidance is a primary component for the ministry.

Who is helped?

Women released prison from local jails seeking assistance with housing, clothing, computer skills, healing, life skills, and employment. Capacity: Since start date 1000-2300 women served.
