Tucson, Arizona, 6 September, 2012.  Andrew Black, Manager, O'Reilly Auto Parts, receives the ESGR Patriot Award.  Andrew was nominated by Master Sergeant Jonathan Martinez, currently assigned as a recruiter for the
Arizona Air National Guard.  During the time that Sgt Martinez worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts they were always very supportive of his TDY orders and periods when he worked late or was called in for duty on short notice.

Louisiana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today Mr Mack Brown with Kinder Morgan Terminals in Baton Rouge, LA was honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of its employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. Mr Mack Brown was nominated for the award by his employee, Lieutenant Colonel Wesley D. Murray with 1st Squadron, 131 Cavalry with the Army National Guard located in Memphis, TN.

This year's Awards Banquet was held on Saturday, August 11 at the Hawaii Prince Hotel.  The special event recognizes those who have exemplified being a supportive employer of employees who serve in the National Guard or Reserve as well as their families.  The evening commenced with Master of Ceremonies, Howard Sugai announcing the Posting of the Colors by the Hawaii Air National Guard Honor Guard.

While the news headlines screamed how the last American soldier drove out of Iraq, they didn’t say anything about those soldiers from North Carolina, who will now and then, “dodge” back in again! The 113th Sustainment Brigade has been a major contributor from the North Carolina National Guard in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom by providing personnel, transportation and equipment support.
