NIH Technology Transfer Offices

NIH Institute-level Technology Transfer Offices

Each NIH institute is served by an internal technology transfer office that facilitates the formation of research collaborations and the exchange of research materials, information, and data between the institute and external organizations.  These offices handle the review, drafting, and negotiation of various types of transactional agreements for the institutes as described below.  These offices also evaluate invention disclosures provided by the institute research staff and make determinations regarding the filing of patent applications on the institute’s inventions.  For NIDDK, the institute-level technology transfer office is the Office of Technology Transfer and Development (OTTD).
