2011 Industry Discussion: Ionizing Radiation Detection and Measurement Conference

Purpose:

The purpose of this conference is to conduct an open discussion with industry and interested government entities on the CBRNE operational and physical standard efforts within the US Government, specifically requirements and capability development for radiological and nuclear measurement.

The conference will feature briefings by DoD, DHS, DOE, DOC/NIST, and other government entities on their needs and roles in the radiological and nuclear arena with focus on standards.

As a part of the Conference we will review the recently released National Strategy for CBRNE Standards document from OSTP which highlights the "Federal vision and goals to achieve a comprehensive structure for coordination, establishment, and implementation of CBRNE equipment standards by 2020. These standards include those required for evaluating equipment, interoperability, training of users, and standard operating procedures for response. "
