3/16/2011 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials announced today their selection of 516 lieutenant colonels, 52 majors and 109 captains for promotion.

The 2010C line of the Air Force colonel and biomedical sciences corps lieutenant colonel and major (biomedical sciences corps) central selection boards considered 4,149 lieutenant colonels, 352 majors and 132 captains for promotion.

The results of the boards are as follows:
CY10C MAJOR (BSC)
CY10C LIEUTENANT COLONEL (BSC)
CY10C COLONEL (LAF)

-- Selection statistics in-the-promotion-zone for colonel: 428 selected from 938 considered for a 45.6-percent selection rate
-- Selection statistics above-the-promotion-zone for colonel: 11 selected from 909 considered for a 1.2-percent selection rate
-- Selection statistics below-the-promotion-zone for colonel: 77 selected from 2,302 considered for a 3.3-percent selection rate
-- Selection statistics in-the-promotion-zone for lieutenant colonel: 45 selected from 80 considered for a 56.3-percent selection rate
-- Selection statistics above-the-promotion-zone for lieutenant colonel: 4 selected from 124 considered for a 3.2-percent selection rate
-- Selection statistics below-the-promotion-zone for lieutenant colonel: 3 selected from 148 considered for a 2.0-percent selection rate
-- Selection statistics in-the-promotion-zone for major: 107 selected from 121 considered for an 88.4-percent selection rate
-- Selection statistics above-the-promotion-zone for major: 2 selected from 11 considered for an 18.2-percent selection rate
