    Workshop in Sana’a discussed strengthening media awareness on election reforms

    NODS Yemen (01/13/2013) - National organization for the development of the society (NODS) and NDI concluded a MEPI-funded workshop on strengthening media awareness on election reforms in which 30 media specialists from Sana’a have attended.

    YLDF (01/05/2013) - Yemen Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF) concluded its 3-week training to 75 young Yemeni male and female MEPI alumni from all the Yemeni governorates on volunteerism, capacity building skills, and effective society participation so as to prepare them in contributing to a new Yemen.

    Al Khabar Now (01/09/2013) - Future Partners Foundation for Development (FPFD) trained 35 students from Sana'a university on managing Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) within the MEPI-funded local grant program entitled “enhancing capacity of student unions”.

    Campaign in Omani city Ibri to strengthen the role of consumer rights

    Oman Daily (01/13/2013) - The Oman Association for Consumer Rights (OACP) implemented the fifth phase of MEPI-funded program on strengthening the role of consumer rights in Ibri city, Ad Dhahirah governorate [located in the north west of Oman]. The workshop was held in Ibri's Omani women's association with the participation of representatives from the government, universities, schools and Al Ad Dhahirah governorate's woman associations.

    Al Roya TV (11/14/2012) - Executive Director of Justice Center for Legal Aid (JCLA) Hadeel Abdel Aziz in an interview with Al Roya TV spoke about the center’s goals, activities and achievements. This outreach activity came as part of MEPI’s local grant to JCLA supporting the program entitled “Legal empowerment of vulnerable women and enhanced awareness of law students”.

    “Capacity Building for Local Authority” program commences in Hajja Governorate

    Al Sahwa (12/2/2012) - Deputy governor of Hajja Dr. Abdulla Al Shami said the MEPI local grant project which is organized by the Fraternity Bridge of Brotherhood Development and Charity Association (FBBDCA) will be implemented in 4 local authority directorates in Hajja will help increase effectiveness of the local authority employees teaching them on how to draft initiatives in order to benefit their local councils.

    Developing community leadership of rural Yemeni women

    Al Masalla (12/2/2012) - Dhamar-based Al-Reyada Association for Women and Society (AAWS) concluded its MEPI funded local grant program on a community leadership project entitled “developing community leadership of Yemeni women”. AAWS Director Hanan Rabad said that this program trained 90 Yemeni women from rural areas in Dhamar on the concept of community-based projects, activism, and leadership roles.
