Areas of light snow and strong northwest winds will wrap around a departing storm system today. The strong winds will produce some areas of blowing snow as well, especially across southwest Minnesota and into the Iowa Great Lakes region, where an additional 1/2 inch to an inch of new snow is expected today. High temperatures today will be in the 20s. High pressure will bring clearing skies and light winds tonight, allowing temperatures to fall into the single digits to around 10 degrees. Warmer air will gradually spread into parts of the region through the remainder of the week, with highs by Thursday and Friday generally in the 30s northeast and 40s southwest.
