Headline Guidance 

Editors of Marines.mil are tasked with telling the Marine Corps story, getting it read, promoting it to an audience of millions and getting picked up by search engines. We make sure those stories are understood and correct. The purpose of changing a headline is to minimize questions and confusion our audience might have over acronyms, for example; CLB-4, ESB, EOD, HADR, CERTEX, JGSDF, MEU, NCO and so on are not suitable in headlines. While this might work for a base paper, we have a wider audience who is not familiar with the jargon. We cannot run headlines that do not comply. If you have any questions, send us an email.
