Opportunity for Public Comment

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) believes that public input is critical as we safely explore and develop offshore resources. Public comment is solicited in our environmental review and regulatory programs for both oil and gas, and renewable energy proposals.

This page has been created as a one-stop-shop for members of the public, local, state and tribal government officials, and interested stakeholders to navigate our comment process.

BOEMRE solicits comments utilizing Regulations.Gov. Through this site, you can find a complete list of BOEMRE Open Comment Documents.

Once you locate a desired document that is open for comment, click the "Submit a Comment" link either on the Search Results screen or the actual Document Details screen.

Once the "Submit a Comment" screen displays, enter any required fields, type or attach your comment, preview your comment, and click the "Submit" button.

The system gives the user 20 minutes to complete the comment form. If you need more time to submit your comment, be sure to continue your session when prompted; otherwise it will expire and your comment will not be submitted.
