Message From the Ambassador
Greetings, and welcome to our Economic and Commercial Section of the Embassy here in Lilongwe, Malawi, the warm heart of Africa. We are eager to assist your U.S. business development mission explore investment opportunities in Malawi.
Our mission is to build and sustain a more democratic, secure, prosperous and well-governed Malawi that responds to the needs of its people, reduces widespread poverty, and foster economic growth. To realize this mission, the United States government supports socio-economic development through the provision of assistance in areas of democracy and governance, education, agriculture, private sector development, and the health sector.
In anticipation of your visit, I encourage you to consult a report that our Economic Section has written entitled “Doing Business in Malawi: A Country Commercial Guide for U.S. Companies” and to contact our Economic and Commercial Officer and Specialist with any questions that you have. I also encourage you to come to the Embassy and ask our team for an in person briefing while you are visiting Lilongwe, Malawi.
