Director of the Office of Educational Technology Karen Cator to Moderate Panel on How Technology Supports Personalized Learning at National School Boards Association's Conference

Karen Cator, director of the Office of Educational Technology, will moderate a panel on how technology supports personalized learning at the National School Boards Association's annual conference in Boston on Monday, April 23. Cator will provide insight on how personalized learning is enabled by technology, and how it provides opportunities for expanding the ability to learn with games, networks, lessons, and other materials and resources. She has been a leading voice on connecting education policy to research, including emerging technologies, and has helped the Administration shape it's vision for using technology to transform teaching and learning.

The panel is titled "Lessons from New York City's School of One and Two Midwest Districts: How Technology Supports Personalized Learning." It will focus on how schools are using today's intelligent software solutions to bring transformative changes into classrooms to better address students' needs. Panelists include Mary Esselman, chief officer of Accountability, Equity and Innovation for the Michigan Education Achievement Authority, and Joel Rose, founder of New York City's School of One.
